BAUER-Pileco Begins Erecting North American Headquarters in Conroe

BAUER-Pileco, Inc., currently with offices in Conroe and The Woodlands, held their official groundbreaking on October 2 for their new $10 million facility in Conroe Park North. When completed, the 78,000 square foot facility on 18 acres will serve as their North American headquarters and house the entire local BAUER-Pileco team. FORT WORTH (October 25, 2017) – Crescent Real Estate LLC (Crescent) purchased the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North, a 372-room hotel located in Atlanta, Georgia.  The hotel sits on 6.25 acres in north Atlanta’s Central Perimeter submarket. The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North is the only hotel adjacent to 63-acre Concourse Corporate center, a 2.2 million-square-foot Class A office complex that includes the instantly recognizable “King and Queen” office towers.  The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North is within minutes of Atlanta’s largest concentration of hospital beds, Georgia’s largest office submarket, and second most visited mall, the Perimeter Mall. Study Details Economic Impact of Conroe’s Business Growth

Business projects supported by the Greater Conroe Economic Development Council (GCEDC) during 2013-2016 created nearly $400 million in capital investment and 703 direct jobs, according to a recent report from Impact DataSource, an economic consulting, research and analysis firm. The Impact DataSource report further stated that an additional 863 indirect jobs were created by the 14 projects the GCEDC recruited to Conroe, adding more than two indirectly related jobs for each direct job created by the projects the economic development organization attracted to the region.  Continue reading

Turner, King Face Off in First Debate Since General Election

The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Greater Houston held its November Membership Breakfast at the Crowne Plaza NRG Park, where Houston mayoral candidates Sylvester Turner and Bill King squared off in their first official debate since the Nov. 3 elections. Turner garnered 32 percent of the votes on Election Day and King got 25 percent, causing a runoff election that will be held on Dec. 12.

Each candidate was given thirty minutes to talk about his platform and then questions from the audience were answered for 10-15 minutes. The forum was moderated by Dennis Winkler of Winkler Public Relations.
